Since 1997, the US Open Directory Project has grown from a few categories of listings lists, to over 50,000 pages of lists, and continues to grow daily. Listings and suggestions for lists and websites are submitted by both users and website owners, and then each listing is reviewed by real people before it is listed and posted to the directory.

Website owners and administrators can submit a listing completing free of charge with no extra requirements.

Now you might wonder how we can afford to keep the US Open Directory Project running, since we don't sell banner ads, ad words, or other side advertising. We do so by offering a way for people to purchase a Premium and Sponsor Listings which has kept the project going since 1997.

Once listed, we rely on feedback from consumers and the "report a link" from users for listings to either remain on the site or to be removed from the site.

Consumers like us because if we receive a complaint from them, we work on their behalf to get their problem resolved with the merchant. If the merchant does not resolved the problem with the consumer to our satisfaction, we will remove the merchant from our system. This gives the merchant an incentive to resolve issues and problems with buyers quickly and to the satisfaction of the consumer as well.

usodp.org also monitors sites that provide information, and we will not list or continue to list any website that does not meet or continue to meet our standards.
